Class Descriptions

Class #100   Time:1 Hour Cost: $25  Class Limit: 6 

Pony Up class #100 is preview of the Pony Up program. Each child will get a 15 minute preview of each of the following; Part of a Horse, Western and English Tack and Proper Riding Apparel, Grooming a Horse, and Handling a horse. This class is very important to the parents and the Trainer. The parents get to see the overview of the program and the instructor gets the chance to identify the interest level and ability of each child.

   

Classes #101- #104 are mandatory and require payment in advance   


Class #101 Time: 1 Hour Cost: $30

Pony Up Class #101 is dedicated to learning Parts of a Horse. When working around horses there are some special words to describe the details of the horse’s body. Once the children begin to understand these parts they also come to understand the purpose, health, and differences between them.

 

Class #102 Time: 1 Hour Cost: $30

Pony Up Class #102 is dedicated to Western and English Tack and Proper Riding Apparel. Just like learning parts of a horse, it is equally important to know the parts of a saddle and bridle as well as the proper clothes to wear to keep safe around a horse. Learning how to take care of your equipment and use it properly will start out each child with a great foundation in horsemanship.

   

Class #103  Time: 1 Hour Cost: $30

Pony Up Class #103 is dedicated to learning grooming tools and how to use them properly. Learning to groom your horse before and after each ride makes sure your horse is happy and healthy. Learning how to use each tool give you the opportunity to get to know your horse very well and gives you the ability to spot any injuries or potential problems with your horse. 

  

Class #104  Time: 1 Hour Cost: $30

Pony Up Class #104 is dedicated to the proper handling of a horse. Each child will learn the safest way to catch, halter, lead, turn, and tie your horse. The trainer works hands on with the group so each child can share in the experience of handling a horse.
